Christian Scientists contend that since the universe and man are governed and sustained by divine law, a single demonstration in overcoming sin, disease, and death, through the understanding and application of this law, proves the possibility of overcoming all sin, disease, and death. For, where perfect law governs, whatever is done once may be done again. On this basis Jesus taught that the works he did, his followers, to the degree of their Christliness, could do also. And Christian Scientists, by the healing of great numbers of well authenticated cases of sickness and sin, are proving in part the promises of Jesus and that the Christianity he taught and lived is scientific.
