Speaking the Truth

The Psalmist says, "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. If the meditation of our hearts—our thoughts—are correct, the words of our mouth will be correct also, for they will be the expression of right thinking. When our thoughts are based upon the recognition of impersonal good as supreme over all, and we deny matter's validity and power in every way, not only our words, but also our deeds, will be found on the side of divine Love, and thus heaven, harmony, will be attained on earth.

Then will be found Immanuel,—God with us,—good with us,—love, life, health, every good thing, with us,—and error nowhere.

Is not this what the world needs to know and do? As Christians, have we not been looking too much to the personal Saviour, and overlooking the real meaning of Immanuel, who was to save the people "from their sins"? If God is with us, how can error also be present, when God and error are antipodal? If God be an ever-present help in trouble,—and He is, and is with us,—how can error or sin any longer have dominion over us? In other words, if good be with us, then error—consumption, rheumatism, or any other evil belief (belief in evil)—cannot be with us, for it is the opposite of good.
