As I am deprived, at present, of an opportunity to attend meetings or church, I wish to express through the Sentinel my sincere gratitude for the great blessing Christian Science has been to me. In the year 1892, I was almost instantaneously healed of a stomach trouble from which I had suffered for years, and which several prominent physicians had pronounced an ailment that they could not relieve. I was finally told there was no help for me,—that it was merely a matter of time how long I could stand the pain I suffered, as it would eventually wear me out.

Just at that time I came in contact with a Christian Scientist. I was living in Chicago, and across the hall from me was a representative of this faith. I did not care for her acquaintance, however, simply because I did not care for a "new religion."

This lady proved herself a "neighbor" in several ways, and simply through a sense of duty I called upon her. I apologized for my wrapper, as I could not wear a dress in comfort, and her reply caused me to put myself under treatment at once.
