I desire to give my testimony for the blessings I have received through Christian Science.

Four years ago I was taken ill and used patent medicines, which brought temporary relief but no lasting help. When I could no longer leave my bed a physician was called. He examined me and said that I was in a state of internal decay, and could not live much longer. I was suffering great pain and could partake of no food. Medicine was administered, but I grew worse. Another physician was called in who gave me more medicine. I was reduced to a skeleton, my eyes and skin were yellow. The pain increased so that we called in a third physician. He said that after I had taken his medicine for a half a year, he might be able to tell what ailed me, but I said that I would take no more medicine; if it were God's will I would rather die.

This was in 1903. I really expected to die then, for I had no strength and my pulse was very low. I still had the one desire,—to see my daughter,—and I therefore asked my heavenly Father to grant me this wish. She was in St. Louis where she had found the way to Truth.
