Some time ago an epidemic known as mumps, seemed to be raging among the schoolchildren of our town. As I was a teacher in the public schools, this was brought to my notice many times, and finally seemed to fasten itself upon me. I knew a little of Christian Science and tried to overcome the error. I was soon relieved from all suffering, but the manifestation on the face seemed to gain ground.

After two days, I asked help of another Scientist and was healed, remaining out of school but two days. While out of school, I found work at home and was busy from morning until night each day, and never felt like lying down.

The result of this treatment was the most wonderful spiritual uplifting! I can never describe it. Then, too, although I was living in a family with eight children, not one of them was touched by the error nor did I hear of another case in town for two months. I soon received class instruction, and upon my return from the class, a little sister began to complain of mumps. With my new understanding. I was enabled to see the ailment vanish without the usual swelling on the face.
