It is with a grateful heart that I shall attempt to testify...
It is with a grateful heart that I shall attempt to testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. It is about a year since I was completely healed of catarrh in its very worst form, it having reached my lungs. I expectorated quite profusely and had a dry, hacking cough all the time. I had been a sufferer from troubles peculiar to my sex for many years, which, together with chronic constipation of over twenty years' standing and many other ills, gradually disappeared under the potency of divine Truth and Love.
My husband gave up a good position in our Southern Oregon home to enable us to come down here to try the climate cure, as medicines, doctors, and operations had failed to relieve me, and so in the fall of 1900 we commenced our mad chase after climate. After living in several differents parts of Southern California for some time, I gradually got worse, entered a hospital in Los Angeles, and had an operation performed which the surgeon said would make a well woman of me, but the relief was only temporary and that from which we expected so much was only another disappointment.
It was while my husband was teaching school out in the country that we first learned of Christian Science, and being ready to try almost anything, we were convinced, on reading Science and Health and other literature, that there was surely something in it, so last summer we came to Riverside with the firm determination to give Christian Science a fair and honest trial. I was under treatment three and one half months with results as above stated. I am to-day a well, strong, and hearty woman, and can now do my household duties with ease and pleasure, while only a short year ago I was able to do but a small part of my work, and that only with great effort. I am happy and contented, and our home is what it should be, one of joy and love. My husband and I have gone through a class and are striving earnestly to learn more and more of this blessed truth that makes free. Words are inadequate to express the thankfulness I feel for what Christian Science has done for me, and I shall strive to let my life and conduct show my gratitude and appreciation.
