Praying Aright
I wish to express the constantly increasing sense of gratitude I feel for Christian Science, because it is teaching me how to pray.
The thought that appeals to me as most clearly defining the prayer of Christian Scientists is from Science and Health, page 16, where it is said, "The highest prayer is not one of faith merely; it is demonstration. . . . It distinguishes between the falsity of sinful sense and Truth that is sinless."
Before this wonderful truth came to me, my conception and habit of prayer was chiefly one of petition to God, beseeching His help for the removal of the many discords of life and for the achievement of good, the realization of my ideals.
