My first knowledge of Christian Science, came through...
My first knowledge of Christian Science, came through a friend's kindly lending me "Unity of Good" by Mary Baker G. Eddy. Just at this time I was sorely in need of help, as I was afflicted with consumption and had lost an only daughter of the dread disease, the same year.
I did not try any material remedies, for my daughter had tried everything,—medicines, change of climate, and electricity.
After reading "Unity of Good," I saw so clearly the reality of good and the unreality of evil, that after repeating the Lord's Prayer, as was my custom the last thing before sleeping, I realized "my lungs are well," and in a short time, my cough disappeared, my lungs were well, and all the other distressing symptoms disappeared. I have never had a return of the ailment, and have been able to heal myself and others. It was seven years ago that I first read "Unity of Good."
