Science is Knowledge
Grand Rapids (Mich.) Herald
Mr. Editor.
To those knowing little or nothing of Christian Science, the arguments presented by Dr. Johnson in The Herald of last Sunday might be misleading, for this reason, that the perfect honesty of thought expressed throughout would lead them to expect from so able a man, a clear understanding of the subject in hand.
While Christian Scientists have no unkind word for the writer, remembering their own experiences, they take decided exceptions to his reasoning. Dr. Johnson has fallen into the error of other professional men, of attempting to evolve the material from a spiritual hypothesis. I need hardly say that this is an impossibility, and I believe that quiet reflection will convince him that his attack upon Christian Science is not fair to his own intelligence.
