I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...
I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science had done for me. About three years ago I began to have severe attacks of backache. Although my mother was a Christian Scientist I did not ask her for treatment and I did not have sufficient understanding of the truth to help myself. The attacks of backache became more frequent until finally I was in almost constant pain. The spinal trouble caused my body gradually to grow deformed, one side being much shorter than the other, and in one of my hips the bone seemed to be out of the socket.
At this time I was living with relatives who were not Scientists, and they and others were much alarmed at my condition. Now I saw that neither will-power nor my small understanding were able to save me. I asked my mother for treatment. My healing was slow. I had seemingly suffered much, the mental discord being even greater than the physical. For a short time there was no improvement, then another practitioner took the case and I at once grew better. The pain and weakness soon left me and my body once more became straight. I think I owe everything to Christian Science, and though there is so much yet to learn, surely the experience has not been in vain.—L. E. J., Fortuna, Cal.
