I would like to tell of a demonstration which followed class instruction in Christian Science.

For a year and a half or more, I had been struggling with a stiff and swollen ankle. I had ceased treating the ailment itself, and was simply resisting the inclination to allow it to interfere with active or to let pride keep me from using the ankle as much as usual, because I could not restrain a limp. At times both feet and ankles were affected, and the trouble had extended to one knee, but I had no fear, for I knew it could not harm me.

During the three weeks' instruction, the symptoms increased, making it difficult to walk, especially on the way to the class room. Imagine my satisfaction when, a few weeks later, I suddenly found that I was perfectly free. I knew not when or how, but the swelling had disappeared, the ankle was flexible, and the foot, which had been slightly turned, had resumed its natural position and the knee was strong again. Every symptom had vanished, and they have never returned since that day, nearly four years ago.
