A short time after coming to Christian Science, I...
A short time after coming to Christian Science, I reached home from business one night in company with my old enemy, sick headache. I had been taught never to voice and error to any one unless it was to some one who knew the truth and could help me. I was only a beginner myself in this new way, and the rest of the family knew nothing of it. If they knew I was suffering they would ask me to try the old material remedies that had failed so many times, so I thought if I could get through dinner without any knowing it, I could go to my own room and to bed, as I had always been obliged to do in the old way. After I was left alone the question itself, Why go to bed any earlier to-night than at other times? error cannot command me. As this thought came, I began to read in Science and Health, and studied it the entire evening. When ten o'clock came I was perfectly free from the ailment, and realized that I had spent a very enjoyable evening, and went to bed perfectly well, thanking God for one more demonstration of the healing power of Truth as taught in our text-book. One by one old difficulties have been met and overcome until to-day I am rejoicing in perfect health and strength, which physicians declared it was impossible for me to attain.—H. E. G. Buffalo, N. Y.
Some five years ago, I had never of Christian Science. I had undergone a severe operation on the neck for tubercular glands, having suffered constantly for about four years from abscesses in the mouth which had been subjected to the knife again and again.
In about a year and a half after the first operation. I was told by the surgeon that another operation was necessary, as the neck had again enlarged. I declared that there must be some other way out of this trouble, and in a week after I saw the surgeon, I heard of Christian Science.
