Christian Science first came to my notice about six years ago. At that time I was suffering from throat and lung trouble, and as medicine was not benefiting me, I was advised to try Christian Science. I purchased a copy of Science and Health and commenced reading, and I had only read about half the book when I was entirely healed of the complaint. Not being then associated with any Scientist, and not understanding the book clearly, I made but little progress until about two years later. I then had an attack of appendicitis, and sent for a physician, and after an examination he said there would have to be an operation before I could be any better. Fearing that an operation would not prove successful, I turned once more to Christian Science,—having moved into a locality where there were Scientists, a few months previous. I did not, however, know where the practitioner lived, but a neighbor went for her, and left word for her to come quickly, as she feared I would be dead before she could get there. She came soon, and in an hour from that time I was healed. The next day I was up and attending to my household duties. This occurred on Thursday, and the following Sunday I attended Christian Science services.

Four years have elapsed since I was healed, and I certainly feel very grateful for Christian Science, for it has brightened many a dark hour for myself and family.
