of the Treasury Bureau statistics gives some timely information regarding the great canals of the world, from which we take the following descriptions of the nine artificial waterways which may be properly termed ship canals.

paraphrase is suggested by the extremities to which some well-meaning people are driven, in their endeavor to make good their position as exponents of the gospel of Christ, and opponents of the gospel of healing.

Some of those who journeyed from afar a few weeks ago to be present at the Communion service of the Christian Scientists at the Mother Church in Boston, are still to be found staying with friends in this city and in neighboring towns.
AFTER
reading many criticisms on Christian Science, and hearing many adverse comments upon it, and after adding my own objections to these, publicly and privately, I began to investigate by carefully reading the various publications issued by that denomination.
WE
hear a great deal in these latter days about altruism, and the brotherhood of man, but this condition can never be realized while the prevalent beliefs about God and man obtain in human thought.
AMID
the giant hills of New Hampshire, alone with God in the solemn stillness, my heart turns to Him in deepest gratitude for the high and holy emancipation which has come to the world through Christian Science.
Just ten years ago this month I accepted Christian Science and the promise, "Ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free," was realized and I was no longer in bondage to fear of pain which had seemed so constant in my back for seven years.
I first heard of Christian Science about four years ago, and I am very grateful for the many blessings which I have received from its beautiful teachings during that time.
All that God desires is to give you His great love so that it may dwell in you and be the principle of your life and service; and all that withstands God's desire and His gift is the want of room for it, and for its free movement when that room is taken up with yourselves and your little personal interest.
