Truth's Piercing Light
Forth
from the Sun of Righteousness,
One bright, celestial ray
Pierced through the clouds of darkest night,
And found me where I lay
Sad and dismay'd,—yea, in the tomb
Of coldness and despair.
It warmed my heart to life and hope,
It breathed in sacred air,
Sweet gospel melodies that told
Of Heaven nigh at hand,
And now, as one by one the clouds
Disperse at Love's command,
The radiance of the Life divine
Lights up mine onward way;
And Christ is gently leading on
"Unto the perfect day.."
