Life's Aim

To love and love and continue to love, exacting nothing in return; to love patiently, quietly, calmly, taking no thought for my own; to love on and on, never thinking whether or not the world sees or knows; to love my brother and sister, never considering whether or not my brother or sister loves me; but to love, simply for the sake of loving and the unspeakable and inexplicable joy which emanates from that love which alone prompts a man to "lay down his life for his friends." To possess this true, pure, spiritual sense of love shall be the endeavor of my life.—J. C. B.
