The Power of Truth Demonstrated
Not long ago a proof was given me of the power of Truth when a member of the household came in and said to a student, young in Science, that he had overturned a bottle of carbolic acid on his arm, while cleaning out a dark corner in the cellar. He had tried to demonstrate for himself, but the pain was so severe and it was blistering so fast that he felt he must have help.
The Scientist said to him, "The spirit quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing." She gave him a treatment, and in fifteen minutes saw him again. He had kept at his work, and said he had almost forgotten the accident, the pain having entirely disappeared.
The burn healed very rapidly, so that by night the only evidences of a burn were several spots which looked like pink stains. He pressed his arm with the other hand, and said there was no soreness there whatever.
