Ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.
John, 8:32.

It is nearly eight years since Christian Science was first presented to me by a very dear friend, and just when I most needed it. After being an invalid for a long time and under the care of one of the best physicians in Washington, D. C., a council was called of the most successful doctors in the country, some of whom were in attendance at the bedside of our martyred President Garfield. Then the case was taken before the world's Congress of Physicians, which was then in session at Washington, and the case was pronounced to be an incurable spinal disease, and that only with the best of care could I live four years. Then for nearly a year I was in Columbia Hospital, where a jacket was made for me, and with that after some time I could walk a little. After that we came to Grand Rapids, where this dear friend told me about Christian Science, which seemed very beautiful, although I did not expect to be healed by it, but as I began to read and understand our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the old errors began to drop away one by one. I then took up a case of heredity for my daughter, which had caused much annoyance and that, too, disappeared. Then came the thought: If all these can be healed, why not the greater one, and so it was, for in a little more than a year, through constant study and the application of what I read, I was entirely healed and still remain so, hence to me Science and Health, by our dear Leader and Mother, is priceless.
