Tobacco Habit Destroyed

When Christian Science was first brought to my notice about three years ago by some American friends who came here to reside, I took it for granted, that I was to make the acquaintance of another—perhaps newer—religious doctrine or creed, of which I knew quite a number. For this reason I would not listen to the well-meant endeavors to interest me.

About a year ago I read a few pages of the chapter "Footsteps of Truth," in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which led me to buy a copy of that marvelous book, because I thought I had read something new about religion and the Scriptures. I became interested and went to the Sunday meetings of that little band of students, who in this city struggled on all alone without leader or reader in the search for more light.

After about six months of reading Science and Health I lost all desire for smoking or the use of tobacco in any form whatever; I had been a slave to this habit for more than thirty years. Besides this it has made me, morally and physically, a new man; it has also brought harmony into my little home and an understanding of divine Love which frees us from the many discords of material sense.
