Found Peace in Christian Science
Christian Science was brought to my attention some eight years ago, when I was deep in a shoreless sea of fear—and with a great and growing doubt of the reality of God.
Educated for a public career, I soon saw the nothingness of mad ambition, in the strife, jealousy, hatred, and utter selfishness of it all. Life itself was to me only a condition of struggle and disappointment, in which the garment of hypocrisy seemed the most popular and essential covering. I am sure mine was not an unusual case, although I thought so at the time.
Just then came my first treatment in Christian Science, and the peace which followed was most miraculous to me. It was a mystery then, but often since, in times of trial, that first experience of an unseen and unknown power stilling the turbulent waves of my consciousness into calmness and rest, has helped me to hold on, until again the "still, small voice" was heard.
