The Lectures
At San Diego, Cal.
The lecture of Hon. William G. Ewing of Illinois on "Christian Science, the Religion of Jesus Christ," called to the Fisher Opera House last night (Sunday, February 18) one of the largest audiences which has ever gathered to hear a religious talk either on Christian Science or any other subject. It was well for the First Church of Christ, Scientist, that the Opera House had been secured, for the usual meeting place would not have held one half the large audience. It filled the large auditorium and balcony, and some were crowded into the gallery in order to find room within hearing of the speaker's voice.
The lecturer was introduced by Judge George Puterbaugh, who said in part:—
