A Christian Science Library

Another number of the Sentinel has arrived and is so filled with helpful articles that the desire comes to express appreciation to those who had part in giving it to the Field. What would we do without our precious publications?

Recent articles on the price of our literature, have brought to mind a little investigation, which was made a year or so ago, as I sat thinking of our Christian Science books and of what they had done, in restoring to us our rightful heritage—health, happiness, and peace. I made a list of all our Leader's works, in the best bindings, together with the publications of the Christian Science Publishing Society, to ascertain the cost of a Christian Science library—since that time other works have been added but even now the total cost is but thirty dollars. This amount includes one copy each of all books, pamphlets, and music sold at 95 Falmouth Street, Boston. It also includes the Journal, Sentinel, and Quarterly for one year and one hundred tracts.

Now is there any one, who has tasted of the healing through Christian Science but has been saved double, yea, triple, that amount in drugs alone? Has every Christian Science family a copy of each of these publications? Priceless literature indeed and but thirty dollars for the entire collection, in bindings such as would ornament any library. A small sum from a worldly standpoint, for in many cases, a book-lover will pay much more for a single set of his favorite author. When we think of the blessings we receive from the perusal of the volumes, our hearts turn in gratitude to our dear Mother, Mary Baker Eddy, in that she has given to the world this literature upon which no money value can be placed, and yet, if earnestly desired, it is within the reach of every one.
