Total Blindness Healed
In reply to the statement that Christian Science is too expensive and that three dollars is too much for a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I would like to make the following statement:
I was born in Louisiana, Pike Co., Mo. My father was a wealthy banker there for almost thirty years. In early childhood I was taken sick and grew much worse as the years rolled on. I was constantly under the care of the best physicians and oculists. I was in many different sanitariums, traveled far and wide, and everything that love or money could do for me was done, but all to no avail. I was a complete physical wreck, and finally became totally blind. As a last resort I was persuaded to try Christian Science, but had no faith in it whatever. I had paid about fifteen thousand dollars to the different physicians and oculists, and was much worse when I stopped their treatment than when I began with them. I paid for Christian Science treatment sixty dollars, and three dollars for a copy of Science and Health. My health was completely restored under Christian Science treatment. This was more than three years ago, and I have never been sick one day since. My eyesight is perfect, my eyes being as strong and as well as can be. I would like to ask the world this question, If three dollars is high for a book through whose teachings the Scientist was enabled to heal me in three months for the sum of sixty dollars compared with the fifteen thousand dollars I had paid the physicians and oculists, and the twenty-five years of terrible suffering I endured at their hands.
Mrs. Fannie C. Brady, St. Louis, Mo.
