Testimony of a Child
Monday , the second of January, I was taken suddenly ill while in school. I went home and grew rapidly worse. I had fever and a dreadful headache accompanied with sore throat, and by Wednesday there was left little more than the shadow of my old self. Mamma read the lesson on "Life" from the Bible and Science and Health and I was instantly healed and had a supper of fried potatoes and pickles at 9 p.m. I slept through the night without once awaking, and in the morning resumed my play as usual.
The morning of January 9 I awoke with the dreadful hoarse croup cough. Mamma took me in her arms and read from Science and Health, and I was immediately healed, and went to school. I came home at noon and sang "Shepherd," also took my music lesson and sang four songs with my teacher with perfect ease.
These demonstrations seem more beautiful, as a third of the town are suffering with the grip. I am nearly nine years old. I read Science and Health and I love Mrs. Eddy for teaching us the way of Life, Truth, and Love.
