Take it to church

When I was growing up, if there was a problem, we were advised to “take it to church.” To me this meant to pray, of course, but by taking it to church, I felt there was more than just my prayer involved.
In a way, it meant the whole church was by my side, supporting me as I reached out to God.
Later, when I began attending a Church of Christ, Scientist, I was interested to learn that “the prayers in Christian Science churches shall be offered for the congregations collectively and exclusively,” as it says in the Manual of The Mother Church.
