Happiness: elusive or God-given?

Live audio chat with Mary (Trinka) Trammell, C.S.B.

In this chat, Mary (Trinka) Trammell points to Jesus' Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount as a recipe for happiness. These Beatitudes are promises that when lived, bring joy and satisfaction. She also points out what Mary Baker Eddy says about happiness in Science and Health: “Happiness is spiritual, born of Truth and Love” (p. 57). Trinka said that means happiness is based on divine Principle, not on outward circumstances and that when we see God as the true source of all the good in our lives, our happiness will be secure and unchangeable.

Trinka answers questions such as: “How do you define happiness?” “How can I stay upbeat when I have trouble finding a job?” “Could you please explain the relationship between a sense of harmony and a sense of happiness?” “How can I find happiness when a relative seems to do everything to stifle my happiness? “How do I find happiness when I am newly divorced and moving to a new area to find a job, home and friends?” She answers these questions and more with the assurance that each person, right now, already has exactly what they need to be happy and will discover this as they turn to God as divine Love for answers.
