Out of the mist in the day's early dawning,Spread like a garment o'er hillside and glen,Sparkling and fresh with the dews of the morning,Comes the green earth in its beauty again;Where the bright sun casts its rays, warm and tender,Melt like a shadow the vapors away,From snowy peaks where, in radiant splendor,Shines the fair promise of blessings to-day.

Across the million miles of nightThe beam that shines from younder star,Bringing its message from afar,Bears witness to the source of light.
