A Prayer for To-day

DEAR Love divine, help me live to-day,From start to close,In just the kindly wayWhich friendship knows.

The Exchange

The question:

Light

HAST ever watched the dawn of lightSteal o'er the hilltops, out of night?

Confidence

Dear Father, Thou alone dost knowThe way that I should tread.

Victory

There are those moments when the voice of GodComes to our clouded thought in accents clear; When our poor human striving for the bestLeaps out and up to claim the love of Love,Returning not in empty loneliness.

God, Our God

Through the gloom of our doubt, and the chill of our fear,When we find earthly power unavailing,Gleams the light of Thy truth, and Thy love comes to cheer,O'er our doubt and our fear all-prevailing.
