Trust

Just put your hand in His, and say,Dear Father, take command! He'll guide thy craft, tho' storm it may,And bring thee safe to land.

Like Paul

When man first sees Truth's lightning flame,He hangs his head in anguished shame;Until, low voiced, he hears his nameCalled lovingly, "I am the sameThat yesterday and yesteryearGave to all men a message clear,—'Come unto me,' sin-tossed and worn,Of joy and usefulness though shorn,I'll make of you, by following me,A man new-born, upright, and free!"

The demand for church

I like to think of each church that grows up in a community as that community's answered prayer for the presence of the saving Christ—the message of God's love for humanity.

Assurance

No matter wheresoe'er we go,If we desire and do the right,It may be only God will know; But we shall walk in heavenly light.

Vision

Up here,Upon these mountain heights,Alone with Thee!

Triumphant!

O God, be merciful to me!I daily strive to love but Thee.

I Must Go On

Sometimes I want to linger on the hills,And gather flowers that grow along the way,And dip my tired feet in sparkling rills,That laugh as little children laugh at play:But from these dreams of sense that error fillsI must go on.

Bringing our prayers to the threat of contagion

Prayer can lift us out of the swirl of fear, and it can be a calming, healing influence in our communities as well.

Meekness

Blest are the meek, our lowly Master said,And meekly taught the truth in Galilee; He healed the sick and sinning, raised the dead,And fed the multitudes, and trod the sea.

Await God's Giving!

Storm not the door of heaven with thy cry;Strive not, in stress, to make Love's peace draw nigh;Seek not to force the Giver of all goodTo meet thy need, as thou believ'st He should.

Awakening

Awake, mankind! the time is past for dreaming;Wake, for the day dawns; open wide thine eyes.

Twilight Peace

At twilight comes a thought of peace,A heart at rest; The Father's tender, loving careOne findeth best.

Rise and Rejoice

Rise and rejoice!Earth's little tasks cannot hinder or bind us;Heavenly errands our feet still employ,Heavenly messages swiftly we carry,Heavenly torches of comfort we kindle.

The Mother Church

O Church of Christ, divine!Thou art a structure strong of Truth and Love,Whose firm foundation finds its sacred restEmbedded deep in Principle—I am.
