Realizing God’s allness brings relief

Several years ago, a number of challenges came up in my life, one after another. I was facing health issues and stress in my job and was supporting others who had asked for help with their problems. As each difficulty arose, though, I held on to the understanding I had gained in Christian Science of the absolute allness of God and the nothingness of evil.

Acceptance of the fact that God, good, is All—all-powerful and ever-present—allows us to see that there is no room for anything else. Omnipotent divine goodness leaves no space for any other power. Omnipresent God embraces all of His creation, so it is impossible to be separated from His love and care.

At times, I felt as if I were on a battlefield, but I was so grateful that I had these two spiritual truths to arm and support me. I refused to allow fear or doubt to enter my thought. I resolved to watch my thinking throughout the day and not let it get befogged by any false claim of a material life—of any life apart from God, Spirit. And in each case, harmony and peace were quickly restored.
