Not vulnerable to intimidation

In today’s world, fear often appears to be a tool of control. A medical diagnosis, financial uncertainty, troubling world events, or a difficult relationship may seem to confront us with the same demands: Be afraid. Submit. React. Intimidation argues that something outside of God has power over us and that we must comply with its terms.

But Christian Science reveals a very different basis for living. In the first chapter of the Bible’s book of Genesis, we read, “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him” (verse 27). This tells us something both simple and profound: God’s power is supreme, and man is created to express God’s nature.

So what does it mean, in practical terms, to be God’s exact image and likeness?
