Healing and church

I have experienced healing at church many times over the years. One memorable occasion occurred during a Wednesday evening testimony meeting a few years ago when I was First Reader.

Symptoms of nausea and weakness became increasingly aggressive as I conducted the service, and I had begun to wonder if and how I was going get through the meeting. During the testimony time, a member spoke of the wonderful mothering love of God, divine Love, always with us. She spoke with such feeling and conviction, and shared how that concept had brought healing in her life. When she finished, I felt awash in that same love, and I, too, experienced healing—on the spot!

This experience moved me greatly. I felt so grateful, not only for a deeper understanding of God’s always-present love, but for a greater awareness of the holiness and healing power of our church services.
