God’s mothering of all

Father-Mother is the name for Deity, which indicates His tender relationship to His spiritual creation. As the apostle expressed it in words which he quoted with approbation from a classic poet: “For we are also His offspring.”

— Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, page 332

A cat starts mothering an orphaned squirrel. A dog feeds a needy kitten. Another cat adopts two lion cubs. These are all stories from the Internet during the past year or so. And there are many more. Surely motherhood is borderless and unconditional.
