What are your favorite synonyms for God?

A Sunday School class from Washington state shares the results of a discussion.

Jack: Truth. Truth is something that I can mentally “grab on to” and use. I can know the truth about myself, and it helps me see myself spiritually. It’s solid. It’s always right there. It never changes. I’ve had sports injuries healed effectively by holding on to Truth. I love to snowboard, and one time when I was snowboarding on my own, I fell and injured my leg. The truth that came to me, as I was sitting in the snow, was that I had been having such a great time that this injury couldn’t have any effect on me, as a child of God. I was thinking about all the joy that this activity was giving me and that this joy was mine—I couldn’t be robbed of a joyful experience. Immediately I was able to get up and continue snowboarding with no bad effects.

Clarice: Love and Life. Love is something that is tangible. I can feel the love of my family and my friends, and I can also feel the encompassing love of God. Treating others with love is also really important because “. . . Love is reflected in love” (Science and Health, p. 17). That’s what I always turn to when there is a problem.

I like thinking about Life as the source of the energy that I express. Sometimes if I have a lot to do and the suggestion of being tired tries to come into my thinking, I turn to God as Life, as the basis of my being. I know that He is never tired; therefore, I, as His reflection, can express limitless energy and the joy that I need to accomplish my tasks.
