LETTERS

I just have to write you about the great issue of the Sentinel titled "What are we worshipping?" [April 2, 2007]. I really enjoyed Tony Lobl's article, "Stardom through a spiritual lens." It made me realize how subtle idol worship is, and that we engage in it without realizing that we are doing so. It is not good for us or for celebrities. It takes our focus off God and puts it on a person.

I also enjoyed the articles by Flavio Colombini and Alison McKown. They spoke of the importance of not worshipping the body. It was interesting to see how both writers became aware that they had to leave materiality for spirituality in themselves and others, and how they worked through this. I was so grateful they were willing to share their stories with Sentinel readers.

Thank you for such apropos, up-to-the minute topics. It makes the literature so easy to share with the newcomer.
