DIVINE HEALING BROUGHT COMPLETE CURE

IN THE LATE 1980s, I owned a construction company in Florida and pretty much ran everything. I had a crew of workers and needed to constantly keep work coming in order to meet payroll every week. There was little time to reflect on life, to pray, or just have fun.

As children, my siblings and I had attended a Christian Science Sunday School where I'd learned that God will always give us the strength to complete a rightful activity, and that if we listen to the "still, small voice" of divine Mind, which is always speaking to us, we will never be led in a wrong direction. So in my work I thought that somehow I would find the strength to carry on, as it was certainly a rightful activity.

I had recently married and was trying hard to maintain a home and family life. But because in childhood my family was at best dysfunctional, I really did not have a good model from which to build. Furthermore, I'd accepted a common belief that a happy family meant a pretty wife, a big house, and a lot of nice things. And that was exactly the life I'd constructed.
