EFFECTS FROM EYE INJURY COMPLETELY HEALED
A friend and I had decided that we were going to participate in the wheelbarrow race, where one person sat in the barrow and the other person pushed it around a track. The lane markings of the track were pieces of string held down by large nails. As we turned a corner, a rusty nail struck me in the eye.
I had been attending a Christian Science Sunday School for my whole life, where I had learned how another name for God is Love. I could feel this love from God enveloping me—almost like a big hug. I felt a dull ache, but nothing overwhelming, especially considering the seriousness of the situation. I just felt an amazing sense of calm. I was certain of God's love surrounding me and protecting me.
When the race ended, my friend ran off to get our prize because we had won! I sat quietly, with my hand over my eye, just knowing that God, who is Divine Love, was with me. My friend had not noticed my injury, but when one of the teachers saw me, she noticed the nail sticking out of my eye, and became very fearful, calling others to help.
