ON THE ROAD, CONCRETE PROOF OF GOD'S CARE

I've always loved the 91st Psalm and how it brings out the comforting, protective presence of our heavenly Father. I had an experience that helped me learn more about God and how to find and dwell "in the secret place of the most High."

Late one Friday night about a year and a half ago, I was driving home on the interstate, traveling the speed limit of around 70 miles per hour. As I glanced up into my rearview mirror to change lanes, I saw headlights coming from behind at a very high rate of speed. My small truck was hit from behind, and I lost control, rolling across the highway and landing up against a rock embankment.

A split second before the impact, I was able to brace myself, and I began to pray, "God is good, God is Love, God is all," calling out loud to Him whom I knew to be always present. The protection was immediate. I distinctly re member that as the vehicle rolled over, when my head touched the roof, there was a softness there. I felt like I was in Love's soft cocoon of care and safety.
