I love playing football
Hello . My name is Chris, and I live near Southampton, England, in a nice house with my mum and dad and my sister. I love playing football.
One day I was playing in the back garden kicking around a ball, when I miss-hit the ball and pulled my groin. It really hurt! I went inside and told my mum. She phoned up a Christian Science practitioner, who started praying for me right away.
Mum and I prayed, too. We talked about God and how He fills all space. We read a line in Science and Health that says, "Accidents are unknown to God" (p. 424). And we thought about how this related to me. I thought, "This means that God is right here, caring for me." I could see how God always kept me safe.
The next day it still hurt when I was running. So we carried on praying about it with the practitioner. One day later the pain had completely gone. I was really grateful because I was able to play football that day, and we won 3-0.
