While I was snorkeling

Last summer, I went to Catalina Island with a large group of friends. The first morning, a few boys and I went snorkeling. As I was swimming, something, probably a jellyfish, stung me. I continued to swim and ignored it. Then I got stung again, and it really began to hurt.

By the time I got back to shore and climbed out of the water, the two areas where I had been stung were really irritated and painful. So I told the lady who brought me. She took me to the Christian Science practitioner who had come with the group. The practitioner helped me pray by understanding this idea: God made all His creatures good. He did not make them to hurt each other. She shared some other ideas, too, but that is the one I stuck with.

By lunchtime, you couldn't even tell that I had been stung. The swelling was gone and so was the redness.

I have had many healings while playing sports, and I'm grateful that I can never be out of God's care.
