Help when you need it

Pirates! Fearless and bold adventurers, sailing the high seas. Backing the enemy right down the plank with his crew at his side. This was the life! This is what the star of this true story, call him Josh, played most often with his friends. No, he didn't know about Captain Jack Sparrow, the hero of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The movie hadn't come out yet. But that was the kind of pirate he dreamed of being.

Josh had some good props to use when playing pirates. He had a black patch to wear over one eye that made him look dangerous. He had a bandanna to tie over his head. He had a black marker to draw on some tattoos.

One day while Josh was playing by himself, he had an idea. When nobody was looking, he opened a drawer in the kitchen and fished out one of his mom's knives. He clenched it between his teeth as he'd seen pirates do when they were climbing around, working on the sails and rigging. He bounced on the bed. He imagined himself as a pirate rappelling down the front of a huge billowy sail!
