One day I was sitting on the couch in the living room. We have big glass windows that are the doors to our backyard. Sometimes a bird will accidentally crash into them. This morning a chickadee did. I saw it try to fly off, but it couldn't.
I went to my mom and asked her what I should do. She said I could pray for the chickadee. So I went inside and got a hymnal. I flipped to Hymn 207. In the first verse it says that God is Love, and "guards the nestling's faltering flight." It fit the situation perfectly.
When I started praying, it didn't seem to be working, so I went outside and talked to the bird. I told it that God was guarding and guiding it. If that was true, then it couldn't be hurt. It started to move its head more, and then it put its foot down. Good improvement!! Then I told the chickadee that it was in God's bubble of love. I told that to it twice. Then flew away. It flew onto a branch of a tree close to our windows and whistled its call, "chick-a-dee-dee-dee!"
