Ruth's reward

A Big Famine Broke Out in the land of Judah. Elimelech was worried about his family finding enough food, so he decided they should move. He took his wife, Naomi, and his two sons, Mahlon and Chilion, into the land of Moab. The people there had very different customs. They worshiped more than just one God.

At first, everything was fine. The family had plenty of food and work. Then, Elimelech died suddenly.

Instead of going back to Judah, Mahlon and Chilion married two women from Moab and stayed there. Mahlon, who was older, married Ruth. And Chilion married Orpah.
