Claw wounds healed through prayer

A few months ago my husband and I had my brother and his wife over. We were making plans for the evening and decided to meet my father and his wife for dinner. We had about an hour before we were meeting, so we were just visiting, having a good time.

Our cat, Jake, was about his business as usual—never minding new company. At some point, I noticed that Jake was sitting on our chaise, behind which my guitar was standing. He was biting on the extra length of strings that hung off the top. It appeared that he was trying to swallow them, and each time he swallowed, he would jump and look frightened. I gently told him not to do that and lifted him away from the guitar. I think out of fear, he reacted to me by clawing at my arm with his back claws, trying to get out of my hold. His fur was standing on end, and parts of it were being shaved off by his actions. I remember feeling the scratching sensation a bit on my arm as I put him on the floor. The I glanced down at my arm, rather alarmed at what I saw. Jake's claws had cut my palm and my forearm very deeply in four places. The sight of this scared me, and as I washed the cuts with soap and water, I felt afraid of infection and the possible need for stitches.

I knew that Jake was innocent, not malicious, and so no harm could result where none was meant. We were both living under God's law of harmony. But I noticed that my arm and hand were feeling increasingly hot and were filled with a burning sensation. My fear wasn't subsiding.
