The door's open
Two perspectives on a Christian Science Reading Room
"When it's my shift and someone comes into our Reading Room, what will happen? Will I be ready? What would I do to help?"
As part of the Reading Room staff, you'd probably smile and offer a "good morning." Then you would be alert to answer a question, offer something to read, or just be there, praying and knowing that you are as welcoming and resourceful as you need to be to respond to this visitor's interest.
The visitor may be curious—or just drop in to browse or find out when the next-door shop will open, or ask when the next #39 bus stops in front. How natural it is to be part of the neighborhood and answer questions like these.
