Praying at camp
Every summer I go to a camp in Maine. At the camp we always go on trips during the second week. I went on the water-skiing trip.
On the first or second day of the trip, my friends and I tried making a three-person pyramid. But it didn't work that well.
The next day we tried it again. This time I fell, and so did the friend to my right. Her ski came off and hit me in the face and cut me.
My counselor pulled me into the boat, and we started to pray. To help calm me, she sang my favorite hymn, No. 148 from the Christian Science Hymnal. It starts out,
In heavenly Love abiding,
No change my heart shall fear;
And safe is such confiding,
For nothing changes here.
She told me that nothing changes where God is. It is always perfect and reflecting love and joy.
After that we had a little rest hour. In the afternoon we tried the pyramid again, and we almost got it! I barely even noticed the cut, which soon healed completely. I was so grateful for Christian Science and for this healing.
