Many reasons to be grateful

As a lifelong musician, I'm so grateful for the inspiration, guidance, and sustaining power the study of Christian Science has brought me. I feel that God's love has manifested itself to me in the form of beautiful instruments and of wonderful places and opportunities to practice, perform, and teach in nearly 50 years as a concert pianist. Being a church organist has richly blessed me, too.

At one time I had an incapacitating pain in my shoulder, and I called a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer. I was able to continue with all of my work. After about a week of being unable to sleep, one night I had had enough. I firmly declared aloud that this condition was unknown to God and therefore could not be known to or experienced by me, because I was His reflection. I was completely free from pain in a few minutes and it did not return.

Another time, I had an infected finger. It quickly returned to normal when I prayed to understand that nothing exists but the perfect, spiritual reality that God created. This perfect creation is as ever-present as He is.
