I've often wondered whether it was pure coincidence or something else that our new neighbors were of the Christian Science faith. Christian Science was a belief system with which I was unfamiliar. Over the course of months and some lovely dinners with our neighbors, I began to learn more. Our friends shared several books with us, and I read sporadically from Science and Health.
I had a pain in my knee that was acute almost from the onset. I could not walk. I was alone that week, so I had to take care of myself as best I could.
