A life transformed
I am greatly indebted to Christian Science for the many spiritual healings I have had.
Before becoming a Christian Scientist, I took intense pleasure in bad deeds and thoughts. Drunkenness, fornication, envy, and hatred made my day. I was also envious of others.
But even in this hell, God was able to reach me, for soon I got fed up with such living. God's voice spoke in my conscience. Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures points out: "The sharp experiences of belief in the supposititious life of matter, as well as our disappointments and ceaseless woes, turn us like tired children to the arms of divine Love. Then we begin to learn Life in divine Science" (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 322). That is exactly what happened to me, and like the prodigal son in the Bible, I "came to my senses" and started on the journey "back home."
