Q Are Christian Scientists allowed to go to a doctor?
A Christian Scientists always have freedom of choice in caring for themselves and their families. When someone joins the Church of Christ, Scientist, he or she has already seen evidence of this means of healing and has determined to follow this way of life. If an individual chooses some other method of treatment, he or she is neither condemned by the Church nor dropped from membership. In many countries in order to meet legal requirements, Christian Scientists engage the services of a physician or a qualified midwife to attend the birth of a child in a hospital or at home.
